I was struck by the cultural aspect of this picture. The photographer allows for us to dive into this specific and intimate moment between a make-up artist and his performer. The bright smoke reveals the dark scene and gives us just enough information to embrace the action. The photographer gives us a glimpse of a backstage moment capturing the essence of a cultural heritage through light, composition and emotion.
